PROJECT DETAILS

Strika Communications and African Bank have joined forces to produce a comic aimed at educating kids about the importance of personal finance and how to manage money wisely.

The issue aboveĀ  saw the launch of the first issue of Antony and the Race Day Challenge, with over 500 000 free copies being distributed throughout South Africa. This 16-page comic, developed by the team at Strika Entertainment, illustrates Africa Bank’s ongoing commitment to improving financial literacy in South Africa.

Antony and the Race Day Challenge is designed specifically for kids to help them acquire important financial management life-skills essential for preparing them for the financial responsibilities of young adulthood!

The financial messages are interwoven with a highly entertaining character set and story line, and presented in a universal medium that all children instantly relate to comics!

I worked as part of a team to develop this comic as was always the case at Strika. My role was to design and structure text-heavy and instructional pages (i.e. character pages, cover treatment, interactive pages and competitions).

Antony and the Race Day Challenge is available to the general public, both young and old, at all African Bank branches.
